Matt Winson

Indie folk band Matt Winson's music could best be categorized as folk with influences from blues, classical and electronic music, combining lush arrangements with lead singer Matthijs Steur's dreamy falsetto.

Indie folk band Matt Winson was born in 2015 when Pieter van Winsen and Matthijs Steur started making music in a smoky student apartment in Leiden, the Netherlands. Since then, they have grown into a full-fledged, four-headed band with the addition of Thomas van Winsen on drums and Maikel Warmerdam on guitar. Over the past couple of years the band has amassed over 5 million streams on DSP’s and toured extensively in the Netherlands and the Baltic States, playing headline shows in venues such as Paradiso and Loftas. Furthermore, the band appeared in De Wereld Draait Door (the biggest TV- show in the Netherlands) and frequently performed on Dutch national radio stations 1,2 and 3. Their music could best be categorized as folk with influences from blues, classical and electronic music, combining lush arrangements with lead singer Matthijs Steur's dreamy falsetto.
