Atmospheric pop music written by bassist Sophie van Schaik. Or actually, fragments from the diary of mother and musician Sophie. Melodic and fragile. Visual and sometimes emotionally charged. But above all full of love. Sophie has always been active as a live and studio bassist and backing vocalist. She played with Diggy Dex, Jacqueline Govaert and Eefje de Visser, among others. She was educated at the Rock Academy of Tilburg and the Conservatory of Maastricht. After the birth of her son she stayed at the Ronals McDonald house in Maastricht for a while, where she got inspired to write about her experiences. The songs she recorded for the 27 Tapes sessions are the first releases Sophie releases under her own name.
We're very proud to announce her upcoming tape for "Ruis" will come out Friday October 14th! Be sure to let Sophie hit you right in the gut as you discover what love means to Sophie.
